New electronic service for citizens has been created
During the Project, an electronic service was created for citizens of the Republic of Lithuania in Lithuania and abroad, together with a certificate from the Register of Suspects, Accused and Convicts, to order a multilingual standard form, confirming the absence of the criminal record. The Regulation stipulates that relevant public documents, including non-conviction certificates or certified copies thereof, are not subject to any form of legalization (apostilisation) and similar formalities if they are accompanied by a standard multilingual standard form. Multilingual standard forms are issued in any of the official languages of the Member States of the European Union. For this reason translation into a foreign language is not required.
Information Technology and Communications Department, implementing the Regulation, by the Resolution of Government of the Republic of Lithuania No. 835 as of 22 August 2018 “On the Designation of Institutions, Responsible for Fulfilling the Functions, Established by Regulation (EU) 2016/1191 of the European Parliament and of the Council” together with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Lithuania, was designated the Central Authority of the Republic of Lithuania for issuing a multilingual standard form together with a certificate from the Register of Suspects, Accused and Convicts, as well as provide assistance and information on the authentication of the issued Register’s certificates.
Until now, citizens of the Republic of Lithuania have not been able to order a multilingual standard form electronically. Such requests were accepted by e-mail or telephone. In order to reduce the administrative burden and improve public electronic services for the citizens of the Republic of Lithuania, Information Technology and Communications Department has automated the procedures for ordering, preparing and issuing a multilingual standard form.
